I was fortunate to book a date at the premier "listening room" in the DFW area. The Bend Studio is an intimate setting with soft light and great acoustics. I am very excited about this gig!

Just back form paradise. I had the pleasure of performing at the wonderful Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival in Mexico. It was a wonderful time, with great music, appreciative crowds and great weather. I performed 3 standing room only shows over 4 days. I am looking forward to returning again next year.
Rusty Wier Benefit Concert

I will be performing at the concert to benefit Rusty Wier. Rusty has been involved in the Texas music scene for many years and has had cuts by many regional, national and international acts. He has recently fallen ill and is in need of assistance and this concert is a good way to show your support. There will be many local, regional and national acts performing to help Rusty. My set will be at 7:00Pm on the 6th. Hope you can make it!!
2nd Annual MountainStock Benefit Concert

I will be returing for my 2nd apperance at the MountainStock Benefit Concert in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. This years proceeds will be donated to the local organization to help victims of violent crimes. The concert will be held in Canmore on January 12th.

I have been selected as a performer for the 5th Annual Guitar Festival taking place in Zihuantanejo, Mexico. The Festival runs from March 2 thru March 9th.
Road Trip Nation TV Show

I have recently been notified that one of my songs, "We've Just Begun" is being featured in Episode 6 of this years PBS TV show Road Trip Nation. The show featues 3 college age hosts touring North America in search of different points of interest. Ironically, Episode 6 is about a trip to Nashville to visit the new Nashville Symphony Hall.

Mountain Stages Songwriting Regional Finalist

I was selected as one of 10 finalists for the SW Regional Mountain Stages Song Contest. I will be performing in Austin at the world famous Cactus Cafe on the campus of the University of Texas.

I have been selected as a finalist in GINA/LAWIN songwriting competition. I was scheduled to perform at the contest in LA but had to pull out due to conflicts with the Wildflower Song competition.

I was recently notified that I have been named as one of ten finalists in the annual Wildflower Songwriting Competition. The performance will take place at the festival on Saturday May 19th at 11:00 am. I will be performing "Now I Believe" and "Do It All Again".
Radio Promotion Underway

I have contracted with Bryan Farrish Radio Promotions for a 16 week campaign to get his music to radio. The campaign is a 2 part promotion focusing on Folk and Americana genres. The Folk portion is into the 3rd week of promotion. The americana portion will begin at about week 5 of the folk promotion, in order to cross pollinate the formats. The primary focus of the folk promotion is on smaerl market public radio and college stations. Keep your ears out for as station near you!
Longtown Sound

I was interviewed by "Uncle Shaq" owner/DJ of the Longtown Sound Podcast. Uncle Shaq is based out of South Carolina and has built his podcast into 80K+ listeners a week. Uncle Shaq has been playing my music for the past several months and enjoys the "positive elements" of my songs.

Mark performed at the 1st annual Sedona Jam for Emerging Artists in beautiful Sedona, AZ. The event took place on Saturday, February 10th. There was a great turnout for the inaugural event. Mark performed at the Bistro Bella Terra stage to a very enthusiastic crowd. Mark received a standing ovation at the completion of his 1+hour show and an encore.

Poor David's Gig Iced Over

Mark's scheduled gig at Poor David's Pub was cancelled due to an ice strom in the DFW area. The gig has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 9th.

Mark will be attending the "ICreate Music Expo" in Hollywood, CA, April 19-21. The expo is hosted by ASCAP and is a few days of workshops, showcaseing and networking opportunities.
National Folk Alliance

Mark will be attending and performing at the National Folk Alliance Conference, February 21-24, in Memphis, TN. This conference is the largest music conference for in North America. It is a great place to perform and network with other writers, performers, musicians and other music industry types.
National radio promotion

Starting around the week of January 15th, Mark will begin a national radio promotion. Mark has aquired the services of Bryan Farrish Promotions out of CA to lead the campainge. The promotion will target radio stations in the Folk genre for the first 8 weeks and then Americana the following 8 weeks, for a minimum of 16 weeks. Please keep your ears out!!

Mark has just been booked for the First Annual MountainStock Non-Profit Fundraiser to benefit the Bow Valley Foodbank. The fundraiser is set for January 20th at the Radisson Hotel in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Canmore is located just outside of Calgery.

On Friday, Nov. 10th Mark released "Scrapbook" at Poor David's Pub, in Dallas, TX. Mark had a full band with him made up of friends from Nashville. The players are all accomplished musicians, producers and writers. Tom Guardino, who is also a co-writer on "She's Got It All" and "Borderline" played lead guitar and sang back-up vocals. Lucas P. Gravell, a co-writer on "Love's A Gamble" and "Now I Believe", played mandolin. Lucas also produced Marks first CD, "All Of My Heart". Doug Seibert, a seasoned road and studio musician played bass. Dennis Goodwin who has also performed with Percy Sledge, Kieth Whitley and Barry Manilow, played keyboards and sang back-up vocals. Carl Brenner played drums and other percussion insturments, as well as, sang back-up vocals. This was Carl's first trip to the Dallas area since performing with Jan and Dean several years ago. Brian Arrowood, 3 time Georgia State fiddling champion, on break from touring with Billy Dean, played fiddle. It was a great night and a goodtime was had by all.

Mark will be heading to Nashville over the next few weeks to prepare with his band for his upcoming CD release party to be held at Poor David's Pub, in Dallas, TX on November 10th. Mark's band will be made up of some of Nashvilles best and most experienced musicians. Hope you can make it by for a fun night!!
